1. PURPOSE

This Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference into the ReadMore Terms of Service (the "Terms"). The terms "ReadMore," "we," "us", and "our" include ReadMore, SC Innovations (and any entity controlling, controlled by or under common control with ReadMore, SC Innovations). This Privacy Policy explains our online and offline information practices, the kinds of information we may collect, how we intend to use and share that information, and how you can opt out of a use or correct or change such information.

2. SCOPE

ReadMore is a personal reading tracking service that permits authorized users to track their reading progress, manage their book collection, take notes on books, and view reading statistics via a supported smartphone or other supported devices using the ReadMore mobile application. This Privacy Policy applies to Personal Information that is Processed by ReadMore in the course of our business, including on the ReadMore website and other websites owned by ReadMore (each a "Site"); the ReadMore mobile application and other mobile applications (each an "App"); forums, blogs, and other online or offline offerings.

All individuals responsible for Processing Personal Information on behalf of ReadMore are expected to adhere to this Privacy Policy. This Policy applies to all of ReadMore's operating divisions, subsidiaries, affiliates, and branches.

3. TRANSPARENCY/NOTICE - TYPES OF PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND HOW WE USE IT

3.1 TYPES OF PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

ReadMore collects Personal Information regarding its current, prospective, and former clients, customers, users, visitors, and guests (collectively "Individuals").

Information You Provide Directly to Us

When you use the Products or engage in certain activities, such as creating an Account with ReadMore, adding books to your library, taking notes, or contacting us directly, we may ask you to provide some or all of the following types of information:

  • Account Information: When you register with us and use the App, you generally provide us with Personal Information such as your name, email address, user name, password, and other registration information. Registration with us is mandatory in order to be able to use the App.
  • Book Data: Information about books you add to your library, including titles, authors, ISBN numbers, reading status (Currently Reading, Want to Read, Read, Abandoned), reading progress, dates started and completed, ratings, and reviews.
  • Reading Notes: Personal notes, highlights, quotes, and annotations you create while reading books.
  • Reading Statistics: Data about your reading habits, including books read per year, pages read, reading streaks, favorite genres, and other reading analytics.
  • Communications with Us: We may collect Personal Information from you such as email address, phone number or mailing address when you choose to request information about our Products, register for ReadMore's newsletter, request to receive customer or technical support, or otherwise communicate with us.

Automatic Data Collection

We may collect certain information automatically through our Apps or other Products, such as the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device's device ID, your IP address, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browsers you use, crash information, information about the way you use the Apps or Products, cookie identifiers, mobile carrier, mobile advertising identifiers, MAC address, Advertiser ID, and other device identifiers.

4. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our Products and services
  • Enable you to track your reading progress and manage your personal library
  • Generate personalized reading statistics and insights
  • Process and complete transactions, and send related information
  • Send technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and requests, and provide customer service
  • Communicate with you about products, services, offers, and events offered by ReadMore
  • Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with our Products
  • Personalize and improve the Products and provide content or features that match user profiles or interests

5. DATA SHARING

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data or reading information with third parties, except in the following cases:

  • With Your Explicit Consent: We only share your data with your explicit and informed consent.
  • Secure Service Providers: Hosting and cloud services with strict security guarantees and confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal Obligations: We may disclose your data if required by law or to protect public safety.
  • Book Information Services: We may share book ISBNs and titles with third-party book information services (such as book databases) to retrieve book details, but we do not share your personal reading data or notes.

6. DATA SECURITY

ReadMore takes reasonable steps to protect personally identifiable information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. We implement security measures to protect your data:

  • AES-256 encryption for all data
  • Multi-factor authentication
  • Secure and encrypted backup
  • 24/7 system monitoring
  • Regular security audits
  • Restricted access to sensitive data
  • Firebase Authentication for secure user authentication

7. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data and reading information
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and all your data
  • Export your reading data, notes, and statistics
  • Manage your privacy settings
  • Withdraw your consent at any time

8. DATA RETENTION

ReadMore retains the Personal Information we receive as described in this Privacy Policy for as long as you use our Products or as necessary to fulfill the purpose(s) for which it was collected, provide our Products, resolve disputes, establish legal defenses, conduct audits, pursue legitimate business purposes, enforce our agreements, and comply with applicable laws.

  • Account Data: Retained while your account is active, deleted 30 days after deactivation.
  • Reading Data and Notes: Retained while your account is active. You can delete individual books, notes, or statistics at any time.
  • Book Information: Book metadata (titles, authors, ISBNs) may be retained in anonymized form for service improvement purposes.

9. INTERNATIONAL USERS

By using the Site and/or the Products, ReadMore will transfer data to servers as indicated in this Privacy Policy. By choosing to visit the Site, utilize the Products or otherwise provide information to us, you agree that any dispute over privacy or the terms contained in this Privacy Policy will be governed by applicable laws. If you are visiting from the European Union or other regions with laws governing data collection and use, please note that you are agreeing to the transfer of your information and Processing of your data globally. By providing your Personal Information, you consent to any transfer and Processing in accordance with this Policy.

10. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The Products are not directed to children under 13 years of age (or other minimum age as required by local law), and ReadMore does not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13. If you learn that your child has provided us with Personal Information without your consent, you may alert us at: privacy@safercity.io. If we learn that we have collected any Personal Information from children under 13, we will promptly take steps to delete such information and terminate the child's Account.

12. CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy may change from time to time. You understand and agree that you will be deemed to have accepted the updated Privacy Policy if you use the Products after the updated Privacy Policy is posted on the Products. If at any point you do not agree to any portion of the Privacy Policy then in effect, you must immediately stop using the Products.

If there are any material changes to this Privacy Policy, ReadMore will notify you by email or as otherwise required by applicable law. We will post any adjustments to the Privacy Policy, and the revised version will be effective immediately when it is posted (or upon notice as applicable).
